End-Grain Honey Comb Serving Platter

To me, this color palate looks like a warm honeycomb and I loved seeing the colors come to life when oiled. This piece is made with mixed hardwoods like hard maple and beech, raised on solid maple feet. Every block was placed by hand, so the pattern of light and dark grain across its surface exists nowhere else.

It’s built for the table. Use it for sushi, charcuterie, cheese, or appetizers, or leave it out on a counter or sideboard as a display piece. 

This is a true one-of-one. Once it’s gone, no one else in the world will own this exact piece, I will never make this again.

Care Instructions

Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap. No dishwasher and no soaking.

Dry immediately with a towel, then stand upright or lean against a wall to air dry. Avoid laying it flat until fully dry.

Apply food-grade mineral oil about once a month, or whenever the wood looks dry. Follow with a light coat of beeswax conditioner every few oilings.

Keep away from prolonged heat, direct sunlight, and standing water.

When It Arrives

This piece is finished with mineral oil and beeswax. In hot weather, the board may “sweat” a little, meaning a light film of oil can surface during shipping. This is normal and harmless. Wipe it with a paper towel, and it’s ready to use.
