These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the Keana Akemi Woods website and any purchase you make from it. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or place an order.

1. About us
Keana Akemi Woods is a small, independently owned business based in Texas that designs and handcrafts wood goods, including end-grain cutting boards, trays, and related items. "We," "us," and "our" refer to Keana Akemi Woods.

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to place an order. By ordering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you're authorized to use your chosen payment method.

3. Handmade products
Every piece is made by hand from natural wood. Variations in grain, color, figure, and size (within reasonable tolerances) are expected and are not defects. Some pieces include knots or small voids filled with epoxy, which are also not defects. Product photos are representative, and colors may look different depending on your screen. Your item may differ slightly from the photos.

4. Custom and personalized orders
For engraved or personalized orders, you are responsible for providing accurate text, spelling, names, and dates. We engrave exactly what you submit and are not responsible for errors in the information you provide. We may decline any personalization request at our discretion, including text that is offensive, hateful, or uses someone else's trademark or copyrighted material. If we decline, we'll contact you to change the request or refund the order.

5. Orders, pricing, and payment
All prices are in U.S. dollars. Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including in cases of suspected fraud, limited availability, or a pricing or description error. If we cancel an order after you've been charged, you'll receive a full refund. Placing an order is an offer to buy; it's accepted when the item ships or when we begin making it.

6. Production and shipping
In-stock items typically ship within 5 business days. Made-to-order items typically ship within 3 weeks. These are estimates, not guarantees, and may vary with demand or material availability. Once an order ships, delivery times depend on the carrier, and we are not responsible for carrier delays.

7. Returns, damage, and cancellations
All sales are final except as described in our Return & Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms. Please review it before ordering.

8. Care and use
Our boards are finished with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax and are intended for normal food preparation and serving. Follow the care instructions provided with each product. We are not responsible for damage, warping, or cracking caused by improper care, such as dishwashers, soaking, or prolonged heat, or by use other than intended.

9. Intellectual property
All content on this site, including board designs and patterns, photos, text, logos, and branding, belongs to Keana Akemi Woods and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it for commercial purposes without written permission. Buying a product does not transfer any rights to its design.

10. Reviews and submissions
If you submit a review, photo, or other content, you grant us permission to display and share it on our site and social media, with credit to you where appropriate. Please don't submit anything false, offensive, or that you don't have the right to share.

11. Disclaimer
Except as stated in our Return & Refund Policy, products and this site are provided "as is," without other warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Keana Akemi Woods is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or our products. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the product involved.

13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Denton County, Texas.

14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept them.
